Dissertation advisors: John Campbell, Alva Noë, and Stephen Palmer

John is in his fifth and final year at Berkeley. He is currently working on a dissertation about the relationship between spatial experience and self-awareness, and remains quite interested in at least the latter of these topics. He also has interests in the history of modern philosophy (especially Kant), Wittgenstein, and the phenomenological tradition.

John received a B.A. from the School of Philosophy at the Catholic University of America in 2003. He then enrolled as a graduate student in Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame. In 2005, he left Notre Dame for Berkeley, and at the end of 2009 he will leave Berkeley to take up a tenure-track post at Mount St. Mary’s University in beautiful Emmitsburg, Maryland.
