(Ph.D. UC Davis). He specializes in philosophy of mind and cognitive science with a focus on the realization of cognition, computation, and consciousness in physical systems. This and other work often involves issues in philosophy of science, metaphysics, and (more recently) neuroethics. Publications include “Integrated Information Theory, Intrinsicality, and Overlapping Conscious Systems” (2021) Journal of Consciousness Studies, “Hemispherectomies and Independently Conscious Brain Regions” (2016) Journal of Cognition and Neuroethics, and “Searle’s Wall” (2013) Erkenntnis.
