Martin is a Fulbright Ph.D. student of Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic (Master degrees in Philosophy and Economics). His main areas of interest are philosophy of mind, language and cognitive science. His Ph.D. project focuses on the relation between the unity of consciousness and our linguistic capacity. More specifically, the aim is to explore whether various perceptions are unified in a single stream of conscious experience thanks to the ability to report verbally on perceptions of different modalities. He has come to UC Berkeley in order to learn more about the problem from the perspective of cognitive science.
