Moral Psychology Group Meeting - Moral Education

The moral psychology group will meet with Larry Nucci to discuss moral education. Professor Nucci suggested reading his chapter from the 2006 Handbook of Moral Development, entitled “Education for Moral Development”.

Professor Nucci is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a research educator at the Institute of Human Development here at Berkeley. He is also the current editor of the journal Human Development. A leading figure in the fields of moral education and moral development, he has made a number of important contributions, including work on how children differentiate the personal from the moral domain. Among his many publications are Nice is Not Enough: Facilitating Moral Development (Merrill, 2008); The Handbook of Moral and Character Education (with Darcia Narvaez, Routledge, 2008), and Education in the Moral Domain (Cambridge University Press, 2001).
