Logic Colloquium Alexander Usvyatsov (UCLA) Model Theory of Metric Structures: An Overview |
Different approaches have been suggested for studying the model theory of normed spaces (and, more generally, metric structures with continuous extra-structure) over the last 40 years. I will describe the connections between them and show that once modified slightly most of them give rise to equivalent frameworks. I will then sketch some of the results proven recently in these contexts.
