Does Western Philosophy Have Non-western Roots?

The talk concerns a debate among nineteenth-century historians on the question whether Western philosophy has Non-Western Roots. It discusses especially the little-known historian of philosophy Eduard Röth who argued that Presocratic philosophy had its roots in ancient Egypt.
