Open Discussion

Prof. Korsgaard has proposed a topic and suggested readings for the open discussion. The topic is human beings and non-human animals, and the readings are Lecture Four of the “Locke Lectures” and the Tanner Lecture she gave at Michigan in 03, “Fellow Creatures: Kantian Ethics and Our Duties to Animals.” These texts are available in a folder at the front desk of the philosophy department office; they are also on reserve in the Howison Library.

The discussion need not be confined to this topic, but may range over all of the issues addressed during Prof. Korsgaard’s visit.
